The Conference on Rhetorical Theory is designed to facilitate collaborative and critical interdisciplinary dialogue about the history, work, and future of rhetorical theory.
The conference features a limited number of participants and a workshop format that de-emphasizes the reading of full papers in favor of directed discussion around specific topic areas that reflect and embody the conference theme.
Launched in 2008, by Erik Doxtader, John Muckelbauer and Mindy Fenske, the conference is convened biennially in Columbia, South Carolina.
